Aim of the Project 

This Crowdfunding Campaign “Warm Your Heart” as our final year project for GD30103 International Corporate Finance was seek to raise fund for Taska Permata Kampung Tanjung Aru, W.P. Labuan. The money we raise will mostly be used to assist Taska Permata in upgrading their environment so that the children could learnt in more comfortable environment.  

Background of the community

Taska Permata is an early childhood learning center  which focus on child development and well being of the kids. The taska consists of 14 student and 2 teachers, where most of the students come from lower income family, and the fees was relatively cheaper to other taska or even is free to those who can’t afford it. Currently, the learning center has been majorly affected by novel coronavirus and this has affected the fund of the organization to keep up their maintenance and to  provide better learning equipment for the children. Through this crowdfunding our team will be able to help in term of learning equipment and other equipment for children development purpose such as table, chair and computer.

During the completion of the program, our team has identified certain risks and challenges.
 

RISK 

We will highlight the three main risk issues faced in the crowdfunding project, which include did not achieve the target funding, the donation collected might be overfunding and lastly the price of the listed item might be changed or increased at the end of the program. For the risk that the collected fund did not achieve the target funding, we have decided that all the collected funds will be used to purchase the necessary item and passed to Taska Permata (Tanjung Aru). While for the risk that the collected fund exceeded, we have decided to carry the project as planned and the excess fund will be passed to the theme for other expenses such as activities expenses or be on the part for maintenance expenses.Lastly, for the risk that the price of listed items might be changed or increased, we have decided to deal with the suppliers or seller to ensure we could get the fixed price or even a cheaper price for the project.

CHALLENGES

We believe there will be two challenges that we need to fulfill in the process to complete the crowdfunding project, which include the short duration of fund collecting, difficulty to gain public trust. To solve the short duration of fund collecting, we have decided to fully use the social media platform as the main advertising platform to the public. This would let the public know about the project and raise more funds. To solve the challenge of difficulty to gain public trust, we have decided to update the information of the program on MyStartr as well the social media to ensure that the public would trust us and willing to support the project.
